If I listed all of the behavior problems we were having with him, it would take up two pages. Alisdair went to her because we just couldn't get control of his issues and making our lives pretty miserable. But, he came back a different dog! This isn't magic, she worked with him every single day making sure that he had all of the basic commands down pat. We received updates, pictures and videos everyday. When we went to pick him up yesterday we received a couple of hours of one-on-one training with her to learn all of the basics and how to utilize what he has learned to deal with some of the problems we have here at home. I am completely confident that once WE have the hang of things, our house will finally be peaceful again. I have two other dogs, which makes it a little more complicated, but he is following his commands like a pro! I'm not going to lie, this is a fairly expensive option, but was well worth it for us. Our other options were to rehome him or bring him back to the shelter where we got him and we just couldn't do that. I am happy to act as a reference for Katie and Off Leash K9 Training. He’s such a wonderful dog, but let me tell you, he was quite the handful before Teri came along. Yelling, “Juno!” at least 500 1/2 times a day was a real challenge and was causing a stressful household. I dropped him off two weeks ago, hoping he’d improve his listening skills or at least stop when we said “Juno STOP.” But guess what? My expectations were blown out of the water! When I picked him up on Thursday, Teri had my son and I practicing all the commands with Juno. It was amazing to see how much he’d learned. The thing that really struck me was that Teri didn’t teach Juno how to behave or my son and I what words to say for him to respond. He’s driven by smells and when he picks up a scent, it’s all he can think about. On top of that, as a COVID puppy, he would struggle around other dogs. He thought every dog wanted to play and never really respected their space, all while wanting them to respect his. Unfortunately, he was bitten one time and lost all confidence around other dogs. He either barked ferociously at them in a preemptive manner or he cowered in fear. We weren’t sure what to do. After working with Erika, he is a totally different dog on walks and around other dogs. He responds much better to commands and has much more confidence around other dogs and people. The updates/report card Erika provided during training were always the highlights of our day.
